When a leader becomes people's voice

When a Narendra Modi becomes people’s voice....

With the rise of Social media, people’s voice is getting more and more important and louder. It has been evident on many occasion in India when only a small percentage of Netizens on social media has forced government to roll back its decision.

Recently forcefully shut down of Aditi Restaurant by congressmen over a bill, that said “As per UPA govt eating money (2G, Coalgate, CWG scam) is a necessity & eating food in AC restaurant is a Luxury, netizens irrespective of political ideology protested against the Congress workers goondaism.

Among the protesters on the Twitter was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi. Along with pic of the bill he just wrote “Height of intolerance” and soon MSM media also joined common citizens on Social Media, in mumbai and across the nation.

Narendra Modi has not done it for the first time. In 2012, he expressed his anger at the Central govt's clampdown actions of blocking hundreds of URLs and twitter accounts,  by removing his photo and uploading a black picture. He Tweeted “"As a common man, I join protest against crackdown on freedom of speech! Have changed my DP."
"Sabko Sanmati De Bhagwan."

On another occasion he Retweeted tweet requesting him to join the movement to draw nation’s attentions towards 14 day hunger strike of All Parties Migrants Co-Ordination Committee (APMCC) chairman Vinod Pandit, who has sat on hunger strike with various demands of Kashmiri Hindus at Porbander.

When A leader becomes voice of people’s movement, movement gets an extra shot. But majority of our leaders are living in their own world. Majority of  leaders on Twitter or FB think people out there are their audience. India’s information and broadcasting minister Sh. Manish Tewari has protected his twitter account, thus cutting himself off from majority on twitter. @PMOINDIA official account of Prime Minister of India regularly blocks its own citizens on Twitter.

Our leaders need to understand that In democracy they have been elected to be His Master’s Voice, and masters of course are citizens of India. They have to speak people’s voice. Sooner they learn better for them..
